Nestled in the lush green, now-popular Banjar Valley is the small town of Jibhi, which feels straight out of a Disney movie. About 8 km above Jibhi is an even smaller, less explored village, Tandi, that will awaken you with its breathtaking views of the Himalayas and is a paradise of treehouses. Built and taken care of with extreme love by the locals and only over a hundred residents, Tandi will  make you feel right at home with the warm hospitality and the villagers ever ready to have a fireside  chat with you

View from a Treehouse

Staying in a Tandi treehouse is an experience. Wake up to a 360-degree view of the mighty mountains overlooking the Jalori Pass and Shoja Heights, and grab some apples and pears right  from the orchards around you before you head out for a delicious meal at Tandi café. Run by a local  family, Tandi café will soothe your heart and tummy with their delicious homemade pizzas, dal, and  Pahadi chicken curry. All this while watching over the breathtaking views right next to you.

Jibhi, the recent tourist town of Tirthan, with the stunning Tirthan river flowing right by it, is every  mountain lover’s paradise. Backpackers from across the country flock here to visit the Jibhi waterfall,  Jalori pass, Serolsar Lake, Raghupur Fort, and the crowd favourites Shoja and Shangarh. Jibhi is a hotspot for hikes that could give you a run for your money!

Above 12 km from Jibhi is the high-altitude Jalori pass, the starting point to the scenic Serolsar Lake  and Raghupur Fort trek. Passing through a forest of Kharshoo Oak trees at 10750 ft is the majestic  Serolsar lake.

Local sweet making at Jalori Pass

It would take about 4 hours to reach the lake, and it is an experience of a lifetime. Another 3 km steep climb from Jalori pass is the Raghupur fort, perched at a staggering 12000 ft in Seraj valley. The fort is renowned for the breathtaking 360-degree view it offers of the massive valley, making it a must-visit for any traveller. Chehni Kothi and Balu Nag temple are the other lesser-explored treks that are must-dos while you’re in Jibhi.
